In May, 2021, I wrote here about the use of "large language models" such as GPT-3 in AI-assisted writing. Now AI-assisted image generation is taking off. This is what midjourney returned for my prompt "Deco Mayan Satanic Robot."
Is it really original writing? Should it be considered art? What are the ethics of using countless images from artists, living and dead, without permission? What will happen when guardrails are removed from databases that include porn and beheadings?
