Bozo...the Devil?

Remember My Familiar Spirit ? Sometimes, entities just pop up and demand that I capture them. I've been rethinking "the devil" lately. I read a quote years ago to the effect that "the devil is what white people call other people's gods." And then I think about the Serpent in the Garden and let's blame Eve. For what, really? For wanting to know? What kind of passive-aggressive trip is it to create the tree of knowledge, beings capable of using it to know, then forbidding it and setting up the serpent and the woman as the patsies? That story always bothered me a little. The other story that REALLY bothered me was in Jewish sunday school when they laid the story of Abraham and Isaac on me. Really? REALLY? GO KILL YOUR SON FOR ME. When we had a break -- this is a true story -- I set the clock ahead an hour. When it reached closing time I walked home and asked my parents if I really had to go back. I didn't tell them about Abraham and Isaac, but I did tell them about setting the clock ahead, and they agreed I didn't have to go back. Later, I started learning about the Inquisition. These were the same people who were promoting Satan and hell! And then the witchburners who accused women of consorting with this guy who looks like Pan...or Dionysus. Then there are the satanic panics in America. The whole Q thing is a subset of that. Anyway, what if, you know, Lucifer the King of Darkness has a bozo shadow? Next, I think I'll cut this out of a piece of wood and paint it.
