Social Media & Online Co-learning

Steve Hargadon asked me to contribute to his extensive, timely, and useful compendium, 2020 Learning Revolution, so I condensed what usually takes me an hour into a 20 minute video on what I learned about teaching and about using social media in teaching digital journalism, social media issues, and social media literacies for ten years at Berkeley and Stanford. For a deeper dive into how to get beyond videoconferences to a more student-centered use of social media in online learning, I wrote some tips for teaching online in March, 2020, when so many educators were forced to move their teaching online.
