So I went to the lumber store and stocked up on cherry, maple, alder, and walnut. $225! Yikes! But that's what Patreon income is for. Spent some time cutting out 7 1/4 X 7 1/4 inch squares and finding a place to stash the wood I didn't cut up. My wood hoard is maxed out. Then I drew the largest circles I could fit into the pieces. Next step is to cut the discs on the bandsaw in the background. I have a pretty thin blade to cut scroll curves in relatively thin wood, so I need to make many relief cuts, about a quarter inch apart, all around the circumference of the circle -- so I don't strain the blade too much making the curved cuts. It's a little like calculus. I cut 9 pieces of wood because of the waste at the head and tail ends. I'm determined to end up with something I can store coffee beans in.
