Manifesting a piece of art, from sketch to object

I was looking for an idea by image googling and pinteresting when I saw an hour glass. It's a widely recognized symbol of passing time. And I'm part of a crew building a time machine. So I drew an hourglass. Here's the less rational part: I started sketching hearts in the top and skulls in the bottom; then the skulls had to be biting roses and the hearts had to be pierced by arrows. Don't know where that came from. I just drew the hourglass and the shapes manifested. You can see next to the hourglass my drawing of my sigil, which I plan to make into a branding iron for my wood pieces. Above that was a sketch for what turned into one of my magic mirrors. You can see that it's only half the mirror. I work a lot with symmetry, so I draw one side, trace it, flip the tracing paper and trace the other side. I use transfer paper to move the drawing onto a piece of wood. Then I cut out the wood, file, sand, and gesso it for painting.
