Sketch took a couple minutes, refining it took maybe 15 minutes, cutting the wood took about 40 minutes. Painting this way is painstakingly slow, though. It takes an hour or more for each layer. I had a brainstorm about what to do with the negative space. It will take a couple days before the requisite part arrives.
