Should I discontinue the forum for Patrons

Esteemed patrons -- if you pledged $10/month or more I invited you to a private forum I set up for this purpose. It was linked to Patreon, so only a single sign-on was required. It has become clear that the Patreon link to the forum software, Discourse, is broken, and my technical partner can't fix it. The system sent out invites and a few people joined, so I know that the invites work at least part of the time; I also suspect that for many the invites ended up in spam filters. In order for an online forum to be useful, there needs to be a critical mass of participation -- at least a few people who participate regularly. A couple of interesting threads got started -- one on psychedelics and one on the books Sapiens and Against The Grain. I sent private email, not from Patreon, to eligible patrons. A couple responded that trying to log in via the Patreon sign on didn't work. So we are abandoning that plugin. If you are still interested, you should be able to set up an account via http://patreon.rheingold.com and my partner is available to change passwords if necessary. I want to give this every chance to succeed, but I'm not going to send out any more emails. If I choose to discontinue the forum, I'll have to come up new rewards.
